Grandpa
This website is a companion to the book G. Fernós Maldonado y El Espacio para la Ciencia en Puerto Rico. (2013) There was simply so much audio-vidual material, that it simply could not fit int he book. (Nor should it have, necessarily made it in the book in the first place) As with any piece of writing, one had to be selective as to what to include and exclude, hence a great deal of material was simply 'discarded' for the sake of expediency. However, I could not let this material go to "waste", so I set up the website.
One should also note that the book could not be a formal catalogue of his artwork. Due to space constraints, the paintings which appeared in the book index could only be of a small size, which did not adequately capture the nuances of his precision and detailed brushwork. (Oddly, even today I am still discovering pieces which for some reason or other had not made it in the final edition of the book.)
Hence, it was almost 'inevitable' for the companion website to have been constructed.

Este portal es un compañero del libro "G. Fernós Maldonado y El Espacio para la Ciencia en Puerto Rico". Simplemente había demasiado material audio-visual, que simplemente no hubiese 'cabido' en el libro. (No que necesariamente debió haber cabido en el primer lugar.) Como con cualquier pieza de escritura, uno tiene que ser selectivo con respect a lo que uno incluirá o excluirá, y por lo tanto una gran cantidad e material fue simplemente 'descartado' por mera conveniencia. No obstante, yo no podia permitir que todo este material terminara 'en la basura', y por lo tanto establecí el portal.
Debería de también notar que el libro no podía ser un catalogo formal de su obra artística. Debido las limitaciones de espacio, las pinturas que aparecen en el indice del libro solamente podían tener un pequeño tamaño, que no capturaba adecuadamente los sentimientos de su precisa y detallada brocha. (Extrañamente, aun hoy sigo descubriendo piezas que, por una razón u otra, nunca llegaron a la edición final del libro.)
Por lo tanto, era casi 'inevitable' que el portal que acompaña el libro hubiese sido construido.
